So I've heard a lot about the green juice....

What’s in the juice?

Kale, dandelion greens, parsley, celery, squash, broccoli, lemon, apple and orange. Whole, organic vegetables washed in ozonated water are juiced using a special process that preserves the integrity of the nutrients.

What does it taste like?

The most common response is “Wow…. That’s not Horrible!!”.. All kidding aside, most people assume it will taste gross because of it's deep green color, but when they taste it, it’s very palatable and easy to drink, most of the flavors come through individually.

How is the juice packaged?

The juice comes in glass quart jars that are vacuum sealed to retain the freshness and vitality. The juice is ‘good’ for over 1 week sealed in the refrigerator. It is also available frozen in special vacuum bags, good for over a month in the freezer! Stock up a month's supply of juice.

How much do I need?

If you are going to drink it on a regular basis, 1 pint a day is quite sufficient. Your body is capable of processing all of the amazing benefits of only about 1 pint per day. If you are going to do a 3 or 5 day Juice Fast, then 2 quarts per day is about what is needed to supply all of your daily nutrition needs.

Can I get it without one of the ingredients? I don’t like ______.

Sorry, because of making it in large batches, there is only one flavor available, plus, each ingredient has  a function in the juice to make it very wholesome.

I heard about the amazing benefits of a 3 or 5 day juice fast...
what is that about?!

The OM cooking Ultimate Green Juice Fast is a program unlike any other. We are simply providing tools for you to use on your journey of discovery ... You create your own plan, and we are here to help!

What would it be like to really have the option of not eating solid food for 3-5 days? Will I detoxify my body? Will I lose weight? Am I going to live on a toilet?

These are all great questions, but the bigger question is "WHY DO I EAT THE FOODS I DO?". We never really have the opportunity to ask this question because we are TOO BUSY EATING! We cannot see the forest for the trees. We have many unconscious eating habits that we have no opportunity to really stop or take a break from. Doing a juice fast gives us a reason to choose not to eat the solid foods that are constantly surrounding us, and allows time for reflection and questioning of our own habits. It also gives a very taxed digestive system a much needed break, and allows the body to 'reset', and get a fresh perspective.

Am I going to be hungry?

Everyone has a different response. The majority of those who have done it in the past have not had a problem with hunger. The juice offers so much nutrition, that the body does not recognize the need for so much food. Although you might miss chewing your favorite foods… but that’s not truly hunger.

What if I need to eat?

By all means EAT!! The only request is that you check in with yourself and figure out if your motivation is truly ‘starvation’… or something else like habitual eating, needing to chew, emotional/comfort eating, etc. Often when you ask yourself if you truly are hungry, you realize that you just are not. However, it does not ruin your experience if you do eat. Remember this is an experiment where you are in charge. Listen to your internal guidance system.

Can I work out and exercise during the fast?

Yes, if it is part of your normal routine. Do everything that you would normally do, no more, but if you want to relax and rest, that would be good too. Remember, you don't need to burn up any extra energy that you might experience, and allow the body to use it for repair and maintenance.

Do I HAVE to be a vegan for 3 days before?

We do suggest that you strictly limit your consumption of wheat, meat and dairy for three days leading up to the fast. It’s not required, but you do get more out of the experience. But simply beginning to limit those items, and paying attention to what you are eating is what it is all about.

Am I going to need to be close to a toilet at all times while juicing?

No, not any more than ‘normal’… so what is normal? We should be poo-ing at least twice a day, if not three times. The juice will help this to happen, but it is not a laxative, and you shouldn’t have any diarrhea. You may experience extra urination because of all the liquid, and this is normal.

When can I start?

We make fresh juice each Monday, but any date can work. You can meet with Ken at the gRAWnola factory where he will go over the parameters for the process, answer any questions, and you can start when you feel it would be most convenient.
